After many years at local and then national level of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy (BSDHT), she was elected in 2010 to the post of President Elect. Julie later became President of the BSDHT, where her role took her all over the UK and the world as an ambassador for the profession.

As a microbiology graduate (Warwick, 1994), Wendy worked initially as a scientist in Whitehall. During this time Simon’s research was related to 3-D analysis of the head and neck and tumour mapping using MRI.
Simon has spent the last 12 years developing the Dutch Barton Practice in Bradford-on- Avon. He describes the practice as a “scene from Heart Beat” when he bought the practice in 2007.
Since then the practice has invested heavily in technology which enables him to follow the complete digital workflow. Simon accepts referrals for all forms of surgery and implants. He uses the full range of digital technology to enable him to plan 3-D implant surgery, bridge work and simple crowns.
The practice has continued to develop the portfolio of digital treatments with further investment, resulting in a better work environment for both patients and staff. He has seen the unforeseen in digital dentistry and worked around most of them.

Dr. Saoirse O’Toole is a Clinical Lecturer in Prosthodontics at King’s College London Dental Institute. Half of her week is spent on clinics doing her specialist training and the rest of her week is spent doing research in the Centre for Clinical, Oral and Translational sciences. Her research focuses on the diagnosis and prevention of erosive tooth wear, in addition to developing methods to measure erosive tooth wear progression in primary care. Sandip qualified with a Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS) from University College London (UCL) in December 1991.
He worked in general dental practice for seven and then went onto further specialist training. He gained a Fellowship in Dental Surgery (FDS RCPS) from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow in 1998 and then undertook a three year full time specialist training programme in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute in London. In 2000, he gained a Masters in Clinical Dentistry (MClinDent) in fixed and removable Prosthodontics from UCL, London.
In 2001 he was successful in the Membership examination (MRD RCS) and gained entry onto the GDC specialist list in Prosthodontics. Sandip continued further training and remained at the Eastman for a further four years to complete a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry training. He gained a further Fellowship (FDS (Rest Dent)) in 2004 and entry onto the GDC specialist lists of Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics and Periodontology.
In 2005, he was appointed to a new post as the first full-time Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. His main remit within the Hospital was to treat patients with cleft lip and palate, oral cancer, trauma and hypodontia. Sandip has been involved in treating patients with cleft lip and palate for over twenty years and set up the Cleft Clinical Excellence Network of which he is currently the chair. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England and is the Regional Specialty advisor for Restorative Dentistry in his region. He has undertaken Medico-legal work for many years and in 2015, he completed the Bond Solon Expert Witness training. Sandip is actively involved with the Oxford Playhouse theatre and is on the Board of Trustees. He is also currently the Chair of the Development Committee where he is actively involved in fundraising.

His passion for advanced cosmetic dentistry led him to be voted founding president of The Australian Society of Dental Aesthetics (NSW branch) in 1990. He developed and lectured on many new techniques in the 1990’s and 2000’s and was invited to join the Pierre Fuchard Academy in 2001. Craig developed the successful cracked tooth model, as well as Dentaguage Calipers and software for Smile Design, and started the Erskine Dental supply company in 1992 to get the many new innovations he saw overseas to dentists, faster. The company has now evolved to manufacture Australia’s number one interdental brush, Piksters, as well as Supagrips, Preeben, Foamies, Master Wedge, Connect system toothbrushes etc and sells hundreds of imported products. He has filed over 20 patent applications and 50 registered designs, won the Best Clinical Innovation award in London 2015 for the reverse focus brush, and has many products in the leading USA Dental Newsletter’s “top products of the year” annual awards. He is currently developing orthodontic anchorage systems, high speed random access patient education software and developing Bamboo Piksters and toothbrushes , and other new eco-friendly dental products. Craig now works full time in lecturing , management, marketing and new product design at the Sydney office in Brookvale NSW and lives in Manly.

He is a clinical director of IAS Academy, an International faculty that provides mentored education for general dentists on a pathway from appropriate simple to comprehensive restoratively focused orthodontics. Tif has an interest in restoratively focused orthodontics and truly minimally invasive restorative dentistry. He has committed his life’s work to empowering dentists to provide important alternative techniques – to offer a wide variety of treatments to many more patients, and not violating the fundamental precepts of orthodontics. Tif also pioneered the concept of Alignment Bleaching, Bonding and Progressive Smile Design. He is also an experienced teacher in the Dahl concept to assist in minimally invasive, patient-centred dentistry. Tif lectures extensively internationally and has had many articles published on all these subjects.
Peter Huntley

Peter qualified with honours from Bristol University in 1982. He worked in a series of junior hospital posts and general practice before gaining Fellowship in Dentistry, in 1986 entering the orthodontic training programme at the Royal London Hospital. He opened his own specialist practice in Solihull 10 days after completing his final year of study in 1989, where he soon developed an interest in adult orthodontics. He has been involved in formal teaching as a part-time lecturer at the Eastman (1994-6) and Royal London Hospitals (2000-2004).
Peter lectures widely on adult orthodontics and its part in whole patient care, both nationally and internationally, whilst continuing his clinical work as the principal of his private practice, Orthodontic Excellence. Peter is a Platinum provider of Incognito lingual appliances and has been a 3M UK Mentor in its use. Peter is also a Platinum Elite provider of Invisalign, is a founding member of the UK group of The Invisible Orthodontist (TIO),and is a member of the Align UK Orthodontists Advisory Board. In 2018 he was invited to be a Clinical Speaker for Invisalign UK. In 1999 Peter founded the Royal London Orthodontic Alumni Association and has been its President since 2016. Peter has been an enthusiastic attendee of the Alpine Orthodontic Conference since 2003 and has organized its academic programme since 2012.

Following completion of her undergraduate training in Leeds in 1990, Yvonne worked in NHS general dental practice for 18 years. During this time, she obtained the LLM in Legal Aspects of Medical Practice in 2000 and completed the DPDS in 2004. She was also a member of Leeds LDC for 8 years.
As well as working in general dental practice, Yvonne developed an interest in orthodontics and worked as a clinical assistant in both hospital and orthodontic practice for over 14 years.

In 2008 she started working for Dental Protection as a Dentolegal Adviser and moved to her role as Head of Underwriting Policy in 2017. She is the first woman to ever be president elect of the Association of Dental Implantology and works hard to promote women in dentistry in Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland. She was also the first female dentist in the UK to gain her implant diploma from The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. Eimear received her dental degree from the University of Edinburgh and she has run her own private dental practice in Edinburgh since 1996.
She received her MFGDP and FFGDP from the Royal College of Surgeons London and her Diploma of Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

Tim’s background in the Aesthetic Medical industry began in 2007 as a sales manager with Reliant Technologies selling Fraxel 1550, 1927 and CO2 lasers into the UK market, later also including Thermage Radio Frequency as the company was acquired and became Solta Medical.
Tim moved, in 2011, to Zeltiq Aesthetics during the earlier days of Coolsculpting, working as both a Training manager and Practice development manager across EMEA through indirect markets and in the UK direct market. This covered a period of strong growth and development for Coolsculpting as a technology and through a period of huge growth for the global non-invasive body contouring market.
He moved to Cynosure in 2014 to take the opportunity to successfully launch the Sculpsure Diode body contouring system to the UK market as product manager.
Today Tim is the EMEA Product Manager for a number of the Candela Medical products including Picoway, VBeam Prima, Gentlelase and the Body Division. In the last two years he has worked with the EMEA team as Candela have launched the Vbeam Prima and continue to innovate, developing new products, expanding the company product portfolio while broadening the features and benefits of their existing class leading devices.

Len D’Cruz qualified from the Royal London Hospital in 1989 and did his vocational training at Whipps Cross. After an associateship in Hertfordshire he bought into his practice in Woodford Green as an expense sharing partner a year later and eventually took over the practice with his wife Anne who is also a dentist. He has done clinical assistantships in Restorative Dentistry and orthodontics. Len has been a vocational trainer for the London Deanery for a number of years and the practice is Denplan accredited and is also a Gold BDA Good Practice Scheme member. It is now a seven surgery practice and the practice is also part of the NHS new contract pilots /prototypes since September 2011 Len was an Examiner for the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners for the MJDF exam and for the Overseas Registration Exam (ORE).
