Crystal Marruganti

Dr Crystal Marruganti is an award-winning dentist, periodontal expert, researcher, and international lecturer based in London, with academic appointments at the University of Siena & University of Pisa (Italy). She completed her advanced clinical training and PhD in Periodontology at the University of Siena in 2023. Her clinical practice focuses on periodontal and implant-related diseases, including both surgical and non-surgical care, with particular focus on cosmetic periodontics (gum recession and gummy smiles). Dr Marruganti has received numerous prestigious awards for her contributions to periodontology and serves on editorial boards of leading scientific journals. She has co-authored key publications informing European clinical guidelines and has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers. Her research explores links between gum disease, lifestyle, and systemic conditions. In 2025, she became the first dentist named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe for Science & Healthcare.
