Urshla (Oosh) Devalia
Dr.Urshla Devalia (Oosh) is a Paediatric Dental Consultant working at the Eastman Dental Hospital, University College London Hospitals, NHS Trust & Community Dental Services (CDS CiC) across the EoE. She is also the Managed Clinical Network Chair for Paediatric Dentistry for NHS England, EoE and the National Lead for Mini Mouth Care Matters (Mini MCM). She led the Child Focused Dental Practice pilot project; a national scheme set in primary care across multiple NHS regions. As President Elect of the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry, she contributes to parliamentary briefing papers aimed at improving oral health care for vulnerable patient groups, with a focus on children with learning disabilities, autism, and complex medical needs. Additionally, she has worked as clinical policy lead for the Office of the Chief Dental Officer for England, addressing inequalities for children with additional needs.
Oosh is a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management, and truly believes in cross-sectional working, ensuring gaps in workforce are addressed, where the expertise and clinical skills are taken to patients, in settings closer to their homes. She is also a firm believer in education for the whole oral health care team, utilising the skill mix of all practitioners to their maximum potential.
