Shamir Mehta

Shamir is the Lead Clinical Advisor for Fitness to Practise at the General Dental Council (GDC). He joined the GDC in 2017 and leads the in-house Clinical Dental Advisory team. He qualified from King’s College London in 1996 and subsequently completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Dentistry (Prosthodontics) and a Doctorate in Medical Sciences, with a research focus on tooth wear. 

Shamir is Programme Director for the MSc in Aesthetic Dentistry at King’s College London, a dental practice owner, a Visiting Professor at Radboud University Medical Centre in the Netherlands (where he supervises PhD research), and Editorial Director of Aesthetic Update.
