Martin is the Chief Executive of the British Dental Association, having been in the role since August 2018. He has overall responsibility for leading the BDA's wide range of operational activities , including policy development, research and contract negotiations; communications and external relations; education and events; and member advisory services. Before taking on his current role, Martin was Director of Member Services at the BDA. Martin joined the BDA in 2013 from the British Medical Association, where he was the BMA's Scottish Director. Prior to that, Martin worked in a number of other senior BMA roles covering contractual negotiations and employment relations. Early in his career, he worked as a civil servant. Martin is a UCL graduate and has an MBA from Warwick Business School.
