Discover the hidden gems of Meisinger

For those of you who don’t know, Meisinger offers a premium range of burs, including diamonds. Now, why on earth would you pay more for a Meisinger ‘premium’ bur when you can save money and buy own brand for half the price? Let me tell you – you will not save money, as you will need to buy the own brand more frequently. Meisinger burs last significantly longer than own brand burs, saving clinicians all over the world time and money, as well as being better for the environment as reduced purchased reduce packaging and materials to dispose of.

A dental colleague of mine always said, “Do good preps, get good restorations. To do good preps you need good burs.”

Meisinger have such an extensive range of quality dental burs, I thought I would share the most popular, sought-after patterns from the range.

The 847R Diamond Bur is THE number 1 diamond bur for CAD/CAM preparation due to the taper modified shoulder. There is also a Tungsten Carbide equivalent HM212 LR which lasts even longer.

The 856 Diamond is a very popular pattern for crown preparation due to its shape – tapered with a round end and is excellent for molars and premolars. The 868 Diamond is also a very efficient parallel crown prep bur, with a tapered equivalent (879).

Looking for a contact breaker/separator? The 858-010 Diamond is your bur. This slim bur is shaped perfectly to go through the contact point without creating a gap, only taking a very minimal amount of enamel to break contact.

Meisinger also offers Occlusal reduction burs which are available in 6 different sizes: the 828 Diamonds. When prepping for an inlay or onlay, the different sizes allow to not over prep the tooth. These diamond burs are available in the Occlusal Reduction Kit 2565 or buy individually.
