Oral health policies – putting them into practice

Objectives: 

  • Explain commissioning guidelines in relation to oral healthcare provision for cancer pathways
  • Describe a clinician’s responsibilities when caring for a patient who has had self-funded dental treatment requiring intervention
  • Describe how the evidence base has been used to inform on unscheduled care work.

Aims:  To give attendees a greater understanding of recent clinical guidelines supported by the Office of the Chief Dental Officer. This includes background information of why the publications, what they mean in practice and the intended changes that will occur because of them.
